Victoria Day Extra Long Weekend

Expect a long and difficult access, itinerary might change but the objective -- ski from the summit of Glacier Peak -- will remain.

The White Chuck River trail is 14 km long with elevation gain of 500 m. It starts at 500 m so expect walking for a while. From the end of trail we will skin up another 3 km and 600 m vertical to a camp on Sitkum Glacier.

  • Friday: drive to Darrington and a TH, ski toward Glacier Peak
  • Saturday: ski Sitkum Glacier from the summit
  • Sunday: ski Kennedy Glacier from the summit
  • Monday: ski out to TH, drive to Vancouver
Not recommended for snowboarders, extra-strong individuals might be accepted.

Required Items to Bring:
  • skis + skins + ski crampons
  • transceiver + probe + metal shovel
  • glacier travel kit (harness, prussiks, ice ax, crampons)
