Introduction to Ice Climbing:

With the popularity of the first ice climbing course filling up so fast and a waiting list started, a second one is now being offered. There are 4 spots of 6 left. so take advantage and sign up!

This year we have teamed up with BlackSheep Adventure Sports to offer an intro to ice climbing course this winter.

ACC Vancouver Intro to Ice Climbing


An Intro Course for Ice Climbing:

Ever thought about ice climbing? Come and experience this exhilarating sport on our Intro to Ice Climbing course.
Typically based out of Whistler or Pemberton, depending on weather, this course is designed to provide a strong foundation in the skills necessary to ice climb safely.
We will introduce you to the equipment, proper ice climbing technique, top-rope belay systems and even the basics of ice screw placement and anchor construction.
You'll be instructed on how to ice climb efficiently and safely while having an unforgettable weekend of learning, challenge and exhilaration!
No experience is necessary, leave that to us!


Course Summary:

  • Cost: $389 CAD per person (ACC Vancouver discounted price to be paid directly to Black Sheep Mountain Sports by Visa or e-transfer)
  • Prerequisites: None
  • Included: 2 days of instruction, required technical gear
  • Location: Whistler/Pemberton or Lillooet depending on weather
  • Dates & Availability: January 16 & 17, 2021 6 spots total


Included:

  • ACMG Certified Guide/Instructor
  • Use of ice axes, screws & other related technical equipment
  • Required group gear


Not Included:

  • Transportation to/from meeting points
  • Personal equipment including boots
  • Hotel/lodging
  • Food


Fine Print:

  • A $75 deposit per person is required to secure a booking.
  • The final payment is due 30 days prior to the trip.
  • Trips subject to 5% GST.
  • We highly recommend Travel & Medical insurance.
  • Be sure to look over our Booking Policies.
  • Participants will be required to sign a Waiver.

Note: Because of COVID-19 there will be some additional requirements including wearing face masks when you cannot physically distance, etc...

Required Items to Bring:

Required Items:

  • Two masks (in case one gets damaged)
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Your own individual black or blue ink pen
  • Personal climbing equipment including boots.
  • Printed out and completed ACC Waiver
  • ACC Health Declaration
  • ACMG waiver

Notes:
- We encourage all members to follow our Etiquette Guidelines at all times while participating in ACC VA events.
