Itinerary:
Lake O'Hara Camp Elizabeth Parker Hut

Itinerary

The Vancouver section has the Elizabeth Parker hut booked for 6 nights from August 14th to August 19th, departing on the 20th. The O’Hara area, known as the Jewel of the Rockies, is located in Yoho National Park and offers beautiful hiking and a variety of hiking, scrambling, climbing and mountaineering objectives in a spectacular setting.
This self-guided camp will feature 6 nights at the Elizabeth Parker hut. Your objectives will depend upon the weather, and the experience and capabilities of your group and may include, for example, ascents of Mt. Schaeffer, Mt. Odaray, Mt Victoria or Mt Hungabee as well as the Grassi Ridge rock route (5.7) or hiking to Lake McArthur, Abbott’s pass or on the All Souls or Yukness ledges route.
Spots for our trip to Elizabeth Parker Hut will be allocated by draw. This camp is for self-guided groups of ACC Vancouver members. Groups of two to four with similar objectives are encouraged to enter as well as individual members who are willing to help organise and participate in setting daily trip objectives.

Draw rules are as follows:

- only one entry per individual or 2 to 4 person group, by the group leader
- minimum group size is 1, maximum is 4
- group leaders and individual participants in the draw will be provided access to a form to answer trip questions (see below). Group leaders will allso need to provide the names and membership numbers of each member in their group
- memberships in ACC Vancouver must be up to date at time of draw
- all entries will be drawn in order to fill the 24 spots and create a waiting list
- draw winners will have until March 20th to pay in full, at which time their status will be confirmed
- spots not confirmed will then be offered to the next party on the waiting list (subject to number of available beds)
- if a drawn member or group drops out at any time, the group or member will contact ACC VA. The spot will then be offered to the next person or group on the waiting list, who will be responsible to pay out the original member's fee.
- The draw will be conducted by the ACC executive on March 5. Winners will be notified immediately. Non- refundable payments are due by March 20th.

Notes

- Registration is not complete until you've signed up and, as required, paid in full to the Alpine Club of Canada Vancouver Section through bank transfer. - Due to COVID-19 restrictions, group size is limited to 15 - The usual shuttle will not be running and participants will have to hike in all their gear and food for the week up the 12 km access road. No vehicles or bikes allowed
-Each group will arrange their own transportation to and from the Lake O’Hara parking lot.

- IMPORTANT NOTE for those who may have wanted to self-organise an overnight stay at Abbott Pass Hut on the Lefroy-Victoria col above Lake O’Hara. At time of posting, the Alpine club of Canada is NOT taking reservations for Abbott Pass Hut because of slope remediation. It is possible, but unlikely, that this will change before our trip.
