Another last minute one, but who's up for an off-the-beaten-track hike in our local mountains?

Its an uphill plod along a deactivated logging road and then a shortish but steep bushwack to the 1419m summit, about 13km roundtrip with 1000m elevation gain or so. The majority is in the trees, but the final summit block rises above the treeline and appears quite prominent. Great views on clear days. Which leads me to: Sunday will be cloudy with some showers, so please sign up only if you are 100% committed.

Participants should be willing to contribute to route-finding, terrain assessment, and trail- breaking, as needed. This will mostly be hiking, but snowshoes will likely useful to summit (I have a spare pair to lend).

We'll be heading out from downtown Vancouver by 8am, with possible pick up stops along the way.

I generally hike at the fast end of moderate, but prefer folks to stick together, so depending on the pace of the group, slower people may have to speed up a little and faster people will need to be able to keep themselves in check.
