Please read the entire trip description before signing up. >Destination will be weather/conditions dependent and decided on closer to the date, so you'll need to be flexible on where we go. Areas on the hit list: Steep Creek, Mt Taylor, Rhor Ridge, Cayoosh, Metal Dome, Nak Pk, Markhor Pk... the list is kinda endless. >Split friendly = minimizing flat/rolling terrain, so ideally one long ascent and descent. No guarantee of this however, so being prepared to put in multiple transitions, traverse, skin-ski etc is a must. You may also need ski crampons, depending on conditions. >Peak-bagging is an option. We will discuss closer to the date. >All participants are expected to have: 1) AST1 or better and recent practice 2) Prior touring experience (this trip is not for beginners) 3) Better than average fitness for a long day 4) Strong riding/skiing ability Other prerequisites may be necessary depending on destination. >Being first on the wait list does not guarantee you a spot. Please send an email describing your touring experience (last few trips) and introducing yourself, if we haven't ridden/skied together before. >Participants will be prescreened, so expect an email in response with possibly a few clarifying questions. > The trip organizer is not the 'leader'. Once on route, decisions will be made as a group, therefore a collaborative attitude to decision- making is a must. >This trip requires good visibility and at most a 'considerable' avalanche forecast. The trip may be cancelled or the dates changed if conditions are not favourable.
