The weather forcast for Saturday is looking great (Finally). The plan is meet at the base of the Sea to Sky Gondola at 9:00am to buy tickets. Take the Gondola up to the top, hike the approach to the stadium glacier, climb the glacier to the ridge and scramble up the ridge (est Buttress route) to the summit. reverse route to descend.

This has a bunch of 4th class scrambling and is well described in the Matt Gunn book

Required Items to Bring:
Helmet, ice axe, crampons, harness, mountain boots, lunch, water, headlamp, warm cloths, money for the drivers/Gondola. I will bring a 30 meter half rope for the 4th class steep bit. Either have a harness/biners/belay device/slings/prussic or go with a lightweight kit or no climbing pro at all.
Recommended Items to Bring:
Use our Event Checklists to make sure you have everything you need.

How to Get There:
Carpool to Event Distance (round trip):100Km
Carpool Departure Time: 8:00 AM
Carpool Location:   Log in for location

** Vancouver Transit Info
Carpool Cost: Approximate vehicle expense for this event is $25.00 (calculated at total Km * $0.25, effective Sunday, October 13, 2019). This is based on the current provincial government rate for private vehicle use.  Please pay your share of the cost to the carpool driver.

This is a fairly long day and the key to getting to the summit and back before the gondola closes is keeping a steady pace. We will go at a moderate pace. The overall elevation gain is roughly 1000 meters. If you are not sure about the endurance or the technical parts please email me so I can assess if this is a good challenge or over your head.
