Itinerary:

2 day ski trip to the summit of Mt. Baker. This is a trip for relatively fast and experienced backcountry skiiers.

Day 1: We will drive to Glacier, WA and start skiing around 1000m on Glacier Cr. FSR. We will climb up to camp at 2000m on Heliotrope ridge (8km 1000m)

Day 2: We will have an early start and climb the Coleman glacier E to the Roman wall to the summit (5km 1100m). Then ski down to break camp and return to cars.

This is a trip for intermediate and advanced BC skiers only. You should be able to ski black runs under any type of conditions and have good fitness to maintain a steady pace the whole trip, as well as have experience with ski- camping and glacier travel.


Required Items to Bring:
  • Passport
  • Skis or Splitboard and skins
  • Shovel, probe and avi beacon and AST1 or equivalent
  • Camping gear
  • Headlamp with fresh batteries
  • Harness/Prussiks
  • Iceaxe/Crampons
