2018 IMC COURSE|
June 28th, 6:30pm - 2nd
A 4.5 day volunteer run course in the Tantalus
aimed at providing additional training
opportunities for section members.
- Broaden and expand on technical skills

We have two simple hopes for this course:
Weíll show you some technical skills, play with
some gear, and
chat about leadership. Hopefully, weíll also
light on your biases and challenge you to break
your process, so that overall assumptions donít

Itís important to acknowledge that all outdoor
contain risk, and often as beginners, we use

facilitating discussions, setting up scenarios,

empowers you not to blindly follow the best
practices of others or even industries, but
instead to ask
the right questions, investigate clues, explore

This allows us to maximize the time available
to deliver course
content, so participants should expect jam-
days and at least one night's worth of course

Note: Unlike all other courses, this one is not
run on a break-
even capacity. It is significantly subsidized,
cheaper for members to participate in. We hope
that in doing so, all eligible club members are
able to attend -
something that would not be possible without

Given the above, there are also two one-third

opportunities for section members; it has no
ambitions to put
more trips on the calendar or create guides,
but does aspire to
promote leadership values and traits. The
course builds on foundational skills, and as
such there are
prerequisites to attend.

volunteers. This course is the brain-child of

|Required Items to Bring:|
GEAR & ALLOWANCES
Space is limited in the helicopter, so everyone is
allowed to bring
one overnight pack, and one day-pack; combined,
they must weigh in at
than 120lbs. As per most mountain adventures, no
replacements will be available once we are
airborne, so please arrive
equipped. We will encourage participation where

forgetting a harness may mean wearing a diaper

GENERAL GEAR LIST
This list is not comprehensive, in-fact, itís a
