Being first on the waitlist does not guarantee you a spot.

I will likely not move anyone off the waitlist until after December 9th.

I prefer to keep the touring groups small which is why I set the number of participants at 6. However, I will increase the size of the group if there are others who are willing, knowledgeable and capable of leading trips from the hut. for the trips from the hut, the groups will be smaller.

All participants are expected to have:

1) AST1 equivalent or better;

2) Prior touring experience (this trip is not for beginners);

3) Adequate fitness to carry a multi- day pack on the approach. It is 9km and 1000m of gain from the trailhead to the hut. Most of the gain is through steep and thick trees on the latter half of the trip. It is not an easy approach;

4) Adequate fitness for 3 full days of touring and still be able to ski out safely; and

5) Strong technical ski ability to ski black or double-black runs under any conditions. This is important because of the need to ski out through thick trees with a pack.

It is beneficial but not required to have:

1) Winter camping experience;

2) Prior multi-day ski trip experience

I recognize that some people may not be able to commit the time for this trip. it may be possible for a group to join 1 or 2 days later. Unless you note otherwise, I assume that you are available for the entire trip.

Participants will be screened. If we have not skied together recently, or at all, please send an email to me describing your general fitness, touring experience and ski ability, and whether you are willing and able to lead trips (the little box on the ACC website may not be enough).

This trip requires decent visibility, a 'Moderate' or better alpine avalanche forecast. The trip may be cancelled, the dates changed or relocated if conditions are not favourable.

Required Items to Bring:
