Itinerary:
Gin Peak is the summit immediately south of Rainbow Lake. It makes a nice day trip when approached from Whistler Olympic Park in the Callaghan Valley.
There is a ski run north off the summit to Rainbow Lake. North and Northwest facing slopes going down to Hanging Lake are also excellent ski runs.
The exit from this trail is always "fun":you must be comfortable with tight tree skiing.
Distance: 12km or so
Elevation gain:900m

Required Items to Bring:
As usual, for any ski trips, you need to have done your AST1 training and bring with you:
beacon
avalanche probe
shovel
food/lunch
enough water for the day
layers of clothing and a good vibe!

How to Get There:
Event Directions:Access is from Whistler Olympic Park, the cross-country skiing, biathlon and ski jumping facility in the Callaghan Valley. Whistler Olympic Park is at the far end of Callaghan Valley Road, which leaves highway 99 north of Brandywine Falls, about 20km south of Whistler.

Carpool Cost: Approximate vehicle expense for this event is $62.50 (calculated at total Km * $0.25, effective Friday, November 16, 2018). This is based on the current provincial government rate for private vehicle use.  Please pay your share of the cost to the carpool driver.
