This introductory avalanche course is designed for snowshoers (or hikers, ice climbers) of all ages who want to develop the skills for safe travel in backcountry terrain where avalanche hazard exists.

This course will be taught by a CAA certified professional through Mountain Skills Academy & Adventures (MSAA). The course is for ACC members only, at a discounted price of $194.65 + GST, but you have to sign up before March 4, 2017. After March 4, 2017, only the standard 10% discount will apply.

You may also have to purchase a Whistler backcountry lift pass for Day 2 ($59 + GST) if you don’t have a season’s pass.

Please note, this course requires a minimum of 6 participants to run. In the event that fewer than 6 participants sign up, MSAA will attempt to fill remaining spots with members of the general public.
