This is a join trip with BCMC See John Baldwin "Exploring the coast Mountains on Skis" p 244-247. Access from the Lillooet river road km 17. Approach on skis will take ~8 hours to 1230m cabin location with 2200 feet of elevation. It's ~9km on logging road and 5km at the bottom of the valley exposed to large avalanches. There are two creek crossings involved: bring light shoes for first ford (was needed in 2016). See approach route (and download it to your GPS if you have one) Creek-cabin-ski-approach Next two days schedule will depends on snow and avalanche conditions with conservative consideration of safety. In case of dangerous conditions we will ski Boomerang glacier and explore creek to Mt Thiassi. On second day we will ski Pebble Peak 2620m 8km round trip. On third day we will ski Sugus Mountain 2470m, 10km round trip On forth day we will ski out back to the Lillooet river road: ~5 hours. Required Items to Bring:
ALL participants MUST have the following equipment: Beacon, Probe & Shovel AST-1 or higher training AT/telemark ski or splitboard setup (including skins) Headlamp Appropriate clothing for being out in the elements all day Enough food and water to remain on the move for most of the day. Please bring your gas stove to cook in cabin. Sleeping bag and pad.
