Discussion of various rescue techniques. Prussic loops to ascend rope in a self assisted crevasse rescue. Various pulleys systems for assisted crevasse rescue.

Required Items to Bring:
harness, belay device , 2 locking carabineers, Your favorite prussic loops or 2 pieces of chord 5-6 mm in diameter 2m and 5m long. Soft chord works better than chord that is stiff.
Recommended Items to Bring:
Use our Event Checklists to make sure you have everything you need.
Bring a pulley if you have one. We will demonstrate the pros and cons of various pulleys.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:Climbing wall at BCIT. Building SE16,same building as the gym.

- We encourage all members to follow our Etiquette Guidelines at all times while participating in ACC VA events.

Cost & Payment:
Member Cost:$5.00/Person
Non-Member Cost:$5.00/Person
Cost Includes:Use of the BCIT climbing wall. Cost is $5 (cash). There is no ATM machine in the building. There is one close to the Tim Hortons on campus.
Make a Payment:Although there is a cost for this event, you do not pay through the ACC VA. Please review the event details carefully for information about how/where to make your payment.
