Itinerary:
Meet at St David's church at 5:15am for no later than 5:30 departure. Drive (with preferably no or very short stop) to the Joffre Lake parking lot at Duffey Lake Road. Start skinning up around 8:30am. Ascend the summit of Tszil Mountain, enjoy breathtaking views under clear blue skies, followed by an enjoyable ski descent via the North-facing sheltered slopes that offer "excellent runs up to 400m" (John Baldwin), return to cars before dark, drive home...... Total ski distance: 13km..... Elevation gain: 1200m.....Please note, the organizer has not been on this mountain and is not assuming a sole role of a "leader". Participants should be willing to contribute to route-finding, terrain assessment, and trail-breaking, as/if needed ;) Participants should be in good fitness shape and able to ski blue runs in any condition with a moderately heavy pack...... If you haven't skied with me before, please send me an email with the following: 1.Your most recent avalanche safety course/training (what, when). 2.Any health conditions or injuries we should be aware of. 3.Your emergency contact (name and phone)........ Looking forward to an amazing day of amazing skiing!!! :)
