|Leave carpool area by 6:00 pm on Friday, August
14th and drive to Skihist Provincial Park 6km
outside of Lytton to camp overnight. Have
dinner on the road or at the campsite. Leave
campsite at 9am on August 15th to arrive at
Kumsheen by 9:30am for 10am trip departure.

most popular white water rafting trip, one that
you can enjoy together with your entire group,
then this is the one. This trip has it all: a
white water cascade through 40 sets of rapids,
a dazzling combination of beautiful, rugged,
desert-like scenery, calm but fast flowing
water, and of course our legendary rapids.
Since our first scary rafting trip down the
Thompson in 1973, we have run this river more
times and with more people than everyone else
combined. We’re very good at it.|
|Required Items to Bring:|
From the website: What to Wear on the Raft-
Rain jacket & pants (we have long rain coats
available for those who do not have their own
Rain hat, toque (try a DM Toque), or cap of
some kind (something to keep your head warm
when you get splashed, especially on cool or
Warm sweater, fleece, or polypropylene pullover
Wool or polypropylene undershirt (wear next to
Long, fast-drying pants or sweatpants or tights
(anything with a high polyester or nylon
content – avoid 100% cotton like jeans);
Shorts (depending upon the weather the morning
of your trip);
Wool or polypropylene socks;
Running shoes, aqua socks, or sport sandals
(footwear you don’t mind getting wet);
In addition to the above, bring a complete
change of dry, warm clothes to leave at the
resort to wear once you are off the river
(including dry shoes and socks).
Note: After we have studied the weather the
morning of the trip, we’ll let you know if
shorts are appropriate attire on the raft.
* VERY IMPORTANT: do not wear jeans on the raft
– they are the worst possible things you can
wear on the river. When jeans get wet they stay
wet and you get very, very cold!

|How to Get There:|
|Event Directions:||If you are coming from points west, be sure to
stay on Highway #1. This means you take exit
#170 off the freeway at Hope, B.C. and stay on
Highway #1 east. At Lytton, stay on the highway
and continue east 5 km until you see the
Kumsheen Rafting Resort signs and our resort
(on the left).|

Approximate vehicle expense for this event is $78.50 (calculated at total Km * $0.25, effective Saturday, October 19, 2019). This is based on the current provincial government rate for private vehicle use. Please pay your share of the cost to the carpool driver.
Once the registration cut off ends I will email
everyone to coordinate payment directly to
Kumsheen under a group name. We will also get a
10% discount for 10 or more people. Some
swimming ability is necessary for this paddle
trip. Please indicate if you want to camp
overnight or if you will drive up in the
morning. For more info:

|Cost Includes:||Six hour rafting trip; lunch; all rafting
equipment and safety gear such as helmet and
life jacket; shuttle to and from Kumsheen
location to the river.|
