Itinerary:
The route:
Grouse Mtn to Lynn Headwaters is a segment of the Baden-Powell trail that is technical and hilly. It traverses the lower slopes of Grouse Mtn and Mt. Fromme before winding down to Lynn Valley. If you own the Vancouver Trail Running book by Rich Wheater, you can find info on this route on pages 118-123.

We'll run the full 7.7km of the route. The highest elevation we gain is 350m.

For those without the book, the route can be viewed here: Baden Powell Lynn Canyon to Grouse Trail*
(*we are doing this in reverse - from Grouse to Lynn)

Run time:
We'll aim for running the trail in 2 hours. Depending on the fitness level of participants, we will go slower or faster.

Meeting place and start time:
7:45AM meet time

We'll meet at the base of Grouse Mountain ... around where the Grouse grind starts.

Recommended Items to Bring:
Use our Event Checklists to make sure you have everything you need.

Bring and wear whatever you need to run comfortably for more than an hour.

This may include bringing a running vest or small backpack to carry your water. If it's raining/snowing, bring a shell jacket, hat and gloves. You may want to carry a spare shirt so you can change into them after running. Maybe if it's icy, bring Yak Trax or micro spikes.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:
  • Google Grouse Mountain (heh)

Notes:
I expect we'll be hungry afterwards. We'll have brunch after our run and then take transit back to Grouse, where (I imagine) our cars will be parked.

(This part is TBD -- we may coordinate leaving one car at Lynn so we all get driven back to Grouse and avoid taking transit)

- We encourage all members to follow our Etiquette Guidelines at all times while participating in ACC VA events.

Cancellation/Partial Attendance:
Please review our Etiquette Guidelines!
Note: If you don't show up we will be very hurt!
