Itinerary:
From upper Baker ski area parking lot (~4,200 ) skin up along the edge of the ski resort on the ski out in a Southerly direction to Austin Pass and then to East Ridge of Table Mountain (~2km). Traverse in a South Westerly direction (~1km) across Southern slopes of Table Mountain to the Table Mountain-Ptarmigan Ridge saddle (~5,200 ). Proceed SW for a couple hundred meters and then ascend to NE high point (5,628 ) of Ptarmigan Ridge (~1/2 km) - aka Happy Bunny Butte Ski (~1/2 km) down NE slope of Ptarmigan Ridge (~900 ) aka Happy Bunny Butte , mainly intermediate (blue) terrain with a short pitch of advanced (black diamond) terrain. II) Skin back to Table Mountain-Ptarmigan Ridge saddle (~5,200 ) and then ski NE along the SW slope of Table Mountain (~.7km) and then skin up to the notch on Table Mountain ridge (~5,700 ). (Can ascend directly from col to notch in good conditions) Ski down (~1 km) the N Slopes of Table Mountain (~1,400 ), intermediate (blue) terrain III) Skin up and travel N ascending South shoulder of Herman Peak (~1 km) to the obvious notch (~5,700 ). Avoid cornice by staying high on Left side of col. Ski down N/ NE slope (~ 200 ) and turn right (E) and descend E Ridge and gulley (~1,300 ). (~1 km) Ski back to parking lot (~1/2km) Approximate time: 5 to 6 hours Level: Strong intermediate, with respect to skiing technique, good with respect to physical stamina.
