Itinerary:

Meet at St Davids Parking lot West Van for noon departure (Saturday July 6). ...drive to Blackcomb....Ride Gondola (chair) to Rendezvous Station...hike (1 1/2 hours) to Blackcomb Lake...set up camp, have dinner spend the night....
Sunday morning:-.hike (ice axe & crampons) up to base of ridge Climb:-.6 - 8 pitches 4th & low fifth class (3 – 4 hours). Descend:- DOA Gulley to Blackcomb lake.(1 ½ hours) ..Pack up gear & hike to Rendezvous (1 ½ hours) for chairlift ride down the mountain......

Required Items to Bring:

Car fare….(about $20 for this trip) see club guidelines regarding Vehicle Expense
Vehicle Expense Guidelines
Blackcomb Pass about $50 (price varies) visit Blackcomb Day Passes

Participants will be screened
Should be reasonably fit,
Experienced & comfortable on 4th & low 5th class terrain and know your knots, & rope work (belaying & rappelling).
Have your own climbing gear, rope, helmet, harness, a few spare slings of varying lengths & locking biners & personal self rescue kit…ice axe & crampons (for early morning ascent of snow fields)
Overnight gear...bivi sack & sleeping bag or tent stove

Sunscreen, FRS radio, hiking poles if desired

Notes:

If sufficient interest..(to join us for a Sunday only day trip to Blackcomb Buttress)
...We can set up an additional one day (Sunday) event....for those Speedo types who think they can get to Blackcomb to ride the first lift up @ 9:45..up ...hike over to the base of the Buttress (2 ½ Hours) do the climb (about 3-4 hours) & get back to the Rendezvous Station for the last ride down @ 5:15.....
