Summer Trip Building Party & Orientation Session for Event Coordinators

5:30 precisely Hot Pizza & Beverages served.

6:00 Workshop ... consisting of brief presentations by club volunteers starts.

1 Overview / Guidelines for Trip Organizers - briefing based on our guidelines. Download & bring a copy. Guidelines for Trip Coordinators .......(10 min)

2 Trip Planning Resources - Tony Knight ....(10 min).

3 Screening Participants - Margaret Hansen.....(10 min).

4 Leadership - emergency contacts; at the trail head; route viability; trip plan; equipment check; establish turn around time keeping the group together; on the trail - group dynamics; after the event......(10 min).

5 Suggested Winter / Event Trip Options Cam Miller -a list of attractive day & overnight objectives for ski touring & mountaineering, snowshoeing and workshops options ...(10 min).

6 iCal (overview) tricks & shortcuts to create a typical Backcountry Event & posting trips to the Summer Event Calendar...(10 min)

7 Questions & Answers regarding your proposed event....(20 min).

The idea is to make the process of organizing, managing and putting Events onto our iCal system, easier, to provide an opportunity to meet other Event Coordinators & make it easy to take into account which other Events are being planned as well as to promote high standards and consistent practices among the clubs Event Coordinators.


Required Items to Bring:
A willingness to coordinate an event for the summer Activities calendar, and an appetite Pizza & refreshments are on us but you gotta register to & coordinate a trip to eat.

An appetite for new trips, a thirst for adventure, ideas & suggestions for events you’d like to see on the calendar
