This trip is weather dependant. It will go on if there is a chance of rain or showers but not if it's expected to pour. Meet at Walmart at 6:30 AM and drive down to the heliotrope Ridge trail head. Hike in to the Coleman Gl seracs (~2 hrs). This includes unroped travel on a bare glacier with open crevasses! Set up some topropes and possibly leading, depending on group interest and ability. Start hiking back by 4:00 PM. Possibly dinner in Glacier, WA (if there's interest).

Required Items to Bring:
Passport, crampons, ice tools (at least 1 set per two participants, mountaineering axe if you're not bringing ice tools personally!), helmet, harness, belay device, warm clothing, headlamp, etc.
Recommended Items to Bring:
Use our Event Checklists to make sure you have everything you need.
Ice screws and draws (if you want to lead), personal anchors, eye protection, spare gloves, Gore-Tex, thermos.

Carpool Cost: Approximate vehicle expense for this event is $60.00 (calculated at total Km * $0.25, effective Friday, April 19, 2019). This is based on the current provincial government rate for private vehicle use.  Please pay your share of the cost to the carpool driver.

This trip is not an ice climbing course! Participants are expected to be able to safely travel on low angle ice (crampons) in order to get to the seracs. Participants are expected to have rock climbing experience and preferably ice climbing experience. I will be happy to help with climbing tips if you would like but this is not a course!
- We encourage all members to follow our Etiquette Guidelines at all times while participating in ACC VA events.
