Students receive: First on the Scene Reference Guide and the Official Wilderness First Aid Guide. Pre-reading takes approx. 5-6 hours. Certification: St. John Ambulance Standard First Aid certificate, valid for 3 years; and a CPR-B certificate.

Students receive: First Aid Reference Guide and the Official Wilderness First Aid Guide. Pre-reading takes approx. 5-6 hours. Notes:

This specialized dual certification course is designed for people who work or play outdoors. It is taught using videos, work and textbooks, and supervised outdoor practical sessions. The course is designed for those who enjoy the outdoors, learning emergency preparedness, and making the right decisions to ensure their own safety and that of others. The course is 20 hours in length. (Age 14+) The following modules are covered in the Standard First Aid for the Wilderness course. Emergency Scene Management Head & Spinal Injuries Shock, Unconsciousness and Fainting hest Injuries Adult Choking Wound Care Cardiovascular Emergencies and Adult CPR Multiple Casualty Management Child Resuscitation Rescue carries; Transport Devices Infant Resuscitation Eye Injuries Severe Bleeding Burns Medical Conditions & Stings Secondary Survey Heat & Cold Injuries Bone & Joint Injuries
- We encourage all members to follow our Etiquette Guidelines at all times while participating in ACC VA events.
